Spring is followed by summer. Temperatures rise slightly. But the heat never reaches unendurable limits. In comparison to other parts of the country particularly the plain regions, the Climate of Jammu and Kashmir is unbelievably lovely at this time of the year as well. The rippling rivulets, the serene lakes, the chinar groves, the pine forests all appear very enticing in the summers. Fruits are ripe and in plenty.
In the summer the melting snow of the mountains fill the brooks and rivers with gushing water. Only a touch of white peaks on the top most crags tells the tale of winter past. Characteristic of summer are the floating gardens on the Dal lake, trout fishing, trekking in the Himalayas, golf, water sports and bird watching etc.

Summer extends from May until the end of August. Light woollens may be required to wear out of Srinagar. In higher altitudes night temperatures drop slightly. Srinagar at this time experiences day temperatures of between 25oC and 35oC.
